Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when detected early and managed appropriately. Often, it presents no symptoms in its initial stages. By the time a woman begins to experience signs and symptoms, the disease may have already spread to other parts of the body, leading to aggressive progression and potential fatality.
The primary goal of conducting Pap Smears is to detect precancerous cells, which can be treated effectively to prevent their progression to cancer.
The secondary goal is the early detection of cancerous cells, which may still be small and confined to the cervix. In such cases, the woman may be referred for surgical options, including the removal of the cervix or both the cervix and uterus, preventing the cancer from spreading to other areas of the body.
In instances where cervical cancer is diagnosed at an advanced stage and has spread, patients may begin treatments such as chemotherapy, which can prolong life and enhance the quality of life.

Our organization is committed in providing comprehensive support services for women with abnormal cervical cells. Patients will be referred to a psychologist to discuss their results and receive counseling and emotional support. If immediate family members require additional assistance, women will be referred to a social worker to help access social grants for their children.
We will arrange appointments for further management and treatment at a tertiary institution (hospital). Follow-up services will also be implemented to monitor patient progress throughout subsequent treatments and to track outcomes after treatment completion, ensuring the best possible care for every patient.
